Josh Elsdon is a husband, father, and teacher in Victoria, BC. He founded the MIT Program (Monterey Institute of Technology) at Monterey Middle School, which teaches computer programming, 3D design and printing, robotics, and app design. Sarah is an Apple Educator and an Apple Distinguished Educator (Class of 2015). She is currently working as a Project Manager for Mobile Learning Professional Development (PD) at a university in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. In this role, she manages and develops the Learning Technology Professional Development program for over 1300 faculty. With over 18 years of teaching experience and a passion for technology integration in the classroom, she is always eager to learn about new approaches that help improve learner engagement and the retention of knowledge. Microlearning became an interest to her when searching for solutions on how to provide ongoing PD to faculty with a full-time teaching schedule and little time to attend a full day of training.
Laila is a professor at a college in Ontario, Canada. She currently teaches general education courses focusing on psychology and world religions in a variety of programs. Her educational background includes a focus on religious studies, politics, and education. She is active in numerous community outreach programs, with a keen interest in refugee relocation and Canadian assistance programs. In her teaching, Laila strives to provide a high quality of instruction with an intense focus on integrating technology and new teaching styles in the classroom. Laila uses the concept of microlearning in a variety of her classes, looking for ways to help integrate classroom theory with life experience especially with her nursing students. She is keeping her eyes open for the next 'big thing' in microlearning to help make higher education more accessible to a wider rage of students.
